The Pakistan Super League, Season 9, campaign of Lahore Qalandars has not gone well for the two-time defending champions. Five games in a row have ended in losses, and they have zero points at the bottom of the table.
Sahibzada Farhan and Rassie van der Dussen have both had a great individual campaign, but they were unable to turn that into match-winning innings for LQ. Compared to Rassie, Farhan’s strike rate is 144.44 compared to 90.33 with 160.35. A top-performing team would be satisfied with these two performances, but not LQ.
There are five matches remaining in the season for the Qalandars, who have a net run rate of -0.5333. Their second leg matches are scheduled for Karachi and Rawalpindi, with Lahore’s leg about to end.
It would be ideal if Lahore Qalandars won the remaining five matches in order to reach 10 points – something no team has ever accomplished since 25 February 2024. As compared to Lahore, the third and fourth teams have 4 points each and a similar NRR.
